A Cause Close to my Heart

In a blog post on my Tuppermamma Blog I posted about a woman who was influential in my life. In this post I wrote about being a teen mom. When I thought I was pregnant I went to an organization called Comfort Care Women’s Health to have a free pregnancy test. I did not know that I was going to be getting so much support along with it. When I took my pregnancy and received a positive result I was distraught but the counselor knew exactly what to say and how to help me calm down. I was worried about how my father was going to react. The counselor held my hand when I was crying and gave me a lot of advice on how to tell my father. She also gave me information on many resources that would help me during my first trimester. Also when I found out that I was pregnant with twins Comfort Care Women’s Health donated a lot of items for the second baby. They were very supportive during my whole pregnancy.
Comfort Care is having a Stride for Life ti raise money. And this year I am very excited because my twins will be joining me on the walk for the first time. I feel like we have come full circle. Comfort Care helped us so much and now we can help them together. Please check out this wonderful organization here and if you feel guided please donate for our walk on this page.

Appreciate you special post. Beiing a teen and pregnant must have been a difficult situation. Your girls are beautiful. I am a firm believer in Jesus Christ too. It’s such a good feeling to meet women of faith.

I went and read your post about being a teen parent, and I totally understand what you went through. I, too, was 16 and pregnant. It’s not something I’ve blogged about yet, but I may just do that after reading your story. My son is almost 15 now and I love him dearly. I’m also a Christian…I was raised in the Baptist Church by a Baptist Minister with a Southern Gospel singing family (yeah, that’s what I had to face once I got pregnant lol). Without the love of my family and my Lord, I would not be where I am today. Thank you for your post, it was lovely. I am your newest follower…thanks for stopping by my blog!

I always love meeting others who can relate to me. I sure hope you do blog about it. Blogging about it was a big deal to me. I loved getting my story out there. I also like letting the world know that the stigma that surrounds teen parents is not always true. I believed in God when I got pregnant but I was not a Christian per say. I found Jesus and His love when I was 23 and since then it has impacted my life in such a strong way. I am so grateful for His redeeming love. Thank you very much for stopping by. Let me know if you decide to blog about being a teen mom I would love to read it.
